As researchers, we are well versed about the risks of our research to our participants, and it is these concerns that dominate ethics board considerations. This symposium aims to shift the conversation, and illuminate the plethora of risks (physical, mental, political, legal, etc.,) facing researchers who engage in many different kinds of research.
We are seeking speakers who are willing to give informal presentations on their research experiences, how they have dealt with risks in the field, and how these risks have affected their life/career. Examples include, but are not limited to, physical risks, psychological trauma, harassment, illness, and imprisonment.
Researchers from all fields are invited to participate.
