Special Details About This Meeting/Audience:

The U.S. economy is now in its 10th consecutive year of economic expansion! Hoorah! – unless you are a practitioner of the so-called “dismal science”. We all know that what goes up will eventually come down. But we don’t know when, where, or how the economy will shift. Which sectors will be impacted, and how will the Pacific Northwest fare in the next economic downturn?

Come join us in Walla Walla. Compare notes with your colleagues from across the Pacific Northwest as we explore how our local and regional economies have transformed over time. Sip a glass of locally-produced wine as we consider how these changes may lead to resilience or vulnerability in the next downturn. This year’s lineup promises a compelling program of speakers, paper sessions, panel discussions and networking opportunities with other economists and related professionals from the Pacific Northwest.

Our conference this year will be held at the historic Marcus Whitman Hotel in the beautiful city of Walla Walla, Washington. Walla Walla is known for its walkable downtown, its fertile agricultural land, and its local vineyards and wine production.

This year, in addition to the conference itself, we will host an optional tour of the region focused on the local economic geography and highlighting the wine industry. More details on the conference and field trip are forthcoming – stay tuned!

We hope to see you in Walla Walla!
