Special Details About This Meeting/Audience:

We know you are all working hard during these unprecedented times to meet the needs of children and families. Your flexibility, commitment and drive to ensure communities continue to be supported has not gone unnoticed.

We are working hard to create an opportunity for us all to come together as a community, take time to reflect on what we have learned, the challenges we have faced, and what we have managed to achieve. Now more than ever, the 2021 AEDC National Conference provides us with a forum to share how we adapt, adjust, and evolve our services and policies to support children, families and their communities.

The AEDC is our national measure of early child development, shining a spotlight on the importance of the early years. AEDC National Conferences bring together educators, practitioners, policy makers and researchers to share how the data has been used to advance our knowledge and shape our practices.

As we approach our fifth, and perhaps most crucial collection to date, we invite you to join us to reflect on what we have learned from four national collections and how those lessons can shape our responses to current challenges. Over the past decade we have seen patterns of consistent improvement in some areas of child development, no change in others, and in some cases increasing vulnerability. The 2021 AEDC National Conference invites us to think about what is driving those trends, what we have learned from interrogating the data, and how the data has shaped what we do to ensure all children in Australia have opportunities to grow, learn and thrive.
